One of the most overlooked parts of dog ownership is trust. When Daisy and I first started out, leash walking was definitely not part of her repertoire. The second the leash clipped on for a walk, she'd grab it in her mouth, dig her heels in, and dramatically flop onto the floor—thrashing around, tail wagging, having the time of her life. To her, the leash wasn't a tool for exploring the world together; it was just a giant chew toy attached to my hand.

Watching my puppy roll upside down in the hallway, reality hit me fast: if we were ever going to explore without stress and truly begin our journey together, I needed to figure things out — and fast.

That goofy moment became our turning point. It pushed me to dive deep into canine communication, focus, and motivation—guiding a chaotic leash-biter into the attentive, reliable adventure partner Daisy is today.
